POWERSPORTS TECHNICIAN
Job Description
A Powersports Technician is largely responsible for diagnosing and repairing powersports machines that include, but are not limited to, side by sides, ATVs, snowmobiles, and dirt bikes. Perform maintenance and repairs on customer vehicles.
Responsibilities:
- Produce legible and accurate paperwork reflecting work performed.
- Possess a valid state driver’s license for conducting test drives.
- Identify problems with vehicles using diagnostic equipment.
- Explain repairs and issues and provide great customer service.
- Plan repair procedures using charts, manuals, and experience.
- Test the functionality of parts and systems.
- Perform basic auto care and maintenance tasks such as oil changes, fluid level checks, and tire rotation.
- Repair and replace brake pads, wheel bearings, sensors, and other parts.
- Perform routine maintenance and general mechanic work on vehicles.
- Prepared to get additional certification as needed.
- Willingness to learn with hands-on training.
- Help keep the repair shop clean and organized, and in safe working condition.
- Keep a professional appearance.
Requirements:
- Automotive and/or powersports experience is required with a minimum of 2 years.
- Must have a personal set of adequate tools and cart to complete jobs as needed. Tool trucks are available on a weekly basis.
- Hold a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to maintain a professional appearance and provide friendly customer service.
- Must read, interpret, and transcribe data to maintain accurate records.
- May lift objects that weigh as much as 50 lbs.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience as a lube technician or prepared to do on-the-job training.
- Ability to use diagnostic equipment.
- Good hand-eye coordination.
